The Environmental Health staff monitors compliance in lodging establishments in Platte County, except for those located within the city limits of Kansas City, Missouri. Inspection reports are delivered to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, which coordinates the licensing of lodging establishments in the state. Lodging establishments are evaluated for cleanliness, fire safety, and other hazards to health and safety. Inspections are conducted on an annual basis and reinspections as needed to ensure compliance. Also, consumer complaints regarding lodging establishments are investigated in a timely manner.
