Platte County Health Department
Basic Food Handler Class

The Platte County class is held every 3rd Tuesday of the month from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.

registration form must be completed and delivered to the Platte County Health Department, with payment, prior to class. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED!! Registration forms may be delivered in person or mailed to: Platte County Health Department, 212 Marshall Road, Platte City, MO 64079 or emailed to: [email protected]. Registration is also available for the in-person class by calling (816) 858-2412.  Payments may be made by credit card over the phone.

Cost: $20.00 non-refundable fee. Late arrivals will not be admitted and must reschedule to attend a future class.

Photo identification is required at the time of class.

Platte County Health Department, Clay County Health Department, Cass County Health Department, Jackson County Health Department, Independence Health Department, and Kansas City, Missouri Health Department now accept one another's food handler photo ID cards as their own! 

Platte County requires 1 in 5 people on duty to have a food handler's certification.
