Food Establishment Inspection Reports

The Division of Environmental Health is responsible for assuring the regular inspection of food service establishments in Platte County. Currently, the Division regularly inspects all such establishments except those within the corporate limits of Kansas City, Missouri.

Several important notes:

  • A single inspection should not be used to evaluate a food establishment. A series of inspections over time gives a more accurate representation of the food establishment Operator's commitment to food safety and sanitation.
  • Food establishments with a "high public health priority" are inspected at least three times per year. Those with a "medium public health priority" are inspected at least twice and those with a "low public health priority" are inspected at least once per year. "Public health priority" is determined by the amount of food preparation required, the number of meals served, the population served, and other factors.
  • Any time a food establishment is found to pose an imminent threat to public health, it is closed. This is a rare occurrence. Nonetheless, no establishment that does pose such a threat would be allowed to continue operating until all critical violations that were identified had been corrected.
  • Owners and managers of food establishments are in the business of serving the public and are as concerned with food safety and sanitation as we are. We work together to assure a safe and healthy dining experience.
