Insurance Benefits
Medical, Vision and Dental Insurance
Eligible employees may enroll for medical, vision and dental coverage, effective the first day of the month following hire date. PCHD covers a large portion of the premium for employees. Employees have the option to enroll their spouse/dependents for an additional cost. Other individual policies such as life, accident, cancer, etc. are available through American Fidelity.
Cafeteria Plan/HSA
PCHD offers a Section 125 cafeteria plan for out-of-pocket medical expenses and dependent care reimbursement. Employees electing a High Deductible Health Plan are eligible for an HSA.
Short-Term Disability
Eligible employees are provided ST Disability coverage at no cost to them after six months of employment.
Retirement Benefits
Pension Plan (LAGERS)
Eligible employees are enrolled in the Missouri Local Government Employees Retirement System (LAGERS). Contributions to this plan are paid in full by the health department. Employees become vested in the retirement plan following 5 years of employment.
457(b) Deferred Compensation Plan
All paid employees can contribute a portion of their salary, pre-tax or post-tax, to a personal account maintained by Security Benefits.
Paid Time Off
Annual Leave
Annual leave is accrued at 5 hours bi-weekly for 24 pay periods for full-time employees and can be accrued up to 240 hours. Part-time employees may receive a pro-rated amount based on hours worked.
Sick Leave
Sick leave is accrued at 5 hours bi-weekly for 24 pay periods for full-time employees and can be accrued up to 1,000 hours. Part-time employees may receive a pro-rated amount based on hours worked.
Holidays
Eligible employees receive the following paid holidays: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth National Independence Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day - Friday after and Christmas Day.
Other Benefits
Authorized travel is paid at the current year’s federal mileage reimbursement rate.
